Afterlife, oh my god, what an awful word. When love is gone, where does it go? Where do WE go?
So much of Reflektor’s concept surrounds death and the afterlife, and seeing that Arcade Fire’s massive world tour is over (Hey Orpheus, why did you lie to us?), it only seems appropriate to talk about the record’s significant impact it made during it’s life. For the indie-listening community (including myself), the dazzling days of LP4 will be noted for a long time. The band has seen everything from the troubling times of missing Bobbleheads and Pitchfork haters, to the unthinkably amazing, playing on arena stages and headlining major festivals (Coachella and Glasto, anyone?). Looking back, although the life of Reflektor wasn’t extremely long, its presence was massive and extraordinary.
